Usually, the cameras that take these pictures use fish-eye lenses that can shoot pictures covering half of the sphere. Therefore, “360 cameras” are two cameras combined in one, shooting two halves which are then stitched in the whole. These cameras are more costly than standard models, but they include unique optics and software to link pictures in a smooth spherical rendering. So if you want a big picture, here are five cameras to consider for 360-degree photos and video:
- Insta360 One X
This Insta360 intervention camera has all the characteristics from a 360-degree camera you might want. Videos are captured in 5.7 K format, along with still pictures of 18MP and even 50fps specific mode for shooting. The biggest downside to the One X camera that is not waterproof, so you are going to want to get a waterproof case for it.
- GoPro Fusion
The GoPro Fusion comes from a brand you know and trust as GoPro has been for some time on top of the camera game. This 360-degree camera shoots in 5.2 K resolution while enabling you to convert those videos to standard versions of 1080p. One of the most significant advantages is the Fusion is waterproof up to 16 feet so that you can bring it anywhere.
- KODAK PIXPRO ORBIT360
4 K is all the fun until 8 K arrives, and the KODAK PIXPRO ORBIT360 reaches all the highlights. There are two 20MP CMOS sensors which are mounted in such a way to provide three different multi-view angles. Using a Wi-Fi connection, you can even have some enjoyment and live stream whatever you are.
- Rylo 360
With 5.8K video at 24fps and 4K at 30fps. These features are ideal, as the Rylo 360 has been designed as an action camera. Small and compact, the small profile of the Rylo 360 makes it great for a helmet, bike or any other action activity to be attached. What helps it even more significant is its stability of motion, which maintains the level of the horizon no matter how bumpy the journey. However, it is not waterproof if you are going on an adventure to get wet; you will want to get a case.
- Garmin VIRB 360 Camera
Garmin has had an exciting life as a company, starting with its various GPS units. The Garmin VIRB camera is a bit out of the norm but is rather impressive with its ability to shoot in either 5.7K/30fps or 4K/30fps, depending on the mode. The included HyperFrame Director Mode makes editing your 360-degree videos a breeze.
