Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan wants to eradicate human disease by 2100

Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan

Priscilla Chan and Mark Zuckerberg recently revealed their goals to end all human sickness by 2100.

They intend to create a computing system that researchers may use in conjunction with AI to categorise cells and forecast how they will behave when diseased. According to Chan and Zuckerberg, the data might be utilised to produce new discoveries that fully eliminate human disease.

The high-performance computer cluster, which will include 1,000 or more GPUs, will enable AI and huge language models for biomedicine at scale.

“AI is creating new opportunities in biomedicine, and building a high-performance computing cluster dedicated to life science research will accelerate progress on important scientific questions about how our cells work.

“Developing digital models capable of predicting all cell types and cell states from the genome will help researchers better understand our cells and how they behave in health and disease,” they said in the statement.
