Lawmakers have set aside their political differences to come together in calling for an emergency motion to debate the recent fiasco the over 100-year-old Sri Maha Mariamman Devasthanam temple in USJ, Subang Jaya. Tan Sri Shukry Salleh has been sacked as Bank Rakyat chairman over his alleged role in altering the federal audit report on 1MDB, said Entrepreneur Development Minister Mohd Redzuan Md Yusof. The minister said the immediate termination order was made using powers vested in him by the Bank Kerjasama Rakyat Malaysia Berhad (Special Provisions) Act. "Following this, decisions made during his service in Bank Rakyat which has an implication on Bank Rakyat, will be reviewed and cancelled if it affects the interest of the bank," he said in a statement. The statement said the minister would announce his replacement once it has been finalised.
